Music

At Kew Woods, our music curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong love of music while developing pupils as confident performers, composers and listeners. Through a broad and ambitious range of musical experiences, children explore music from different cultures and time periods, building respect and appreciation for all traditions. Using the Kapow scheme, pupils develop key skills in singing, playing instruments, composing and listening, alongside an understanding of musical elements such as pitch, tempo and dynamics. Lessons are engaging, practical and inclusive, enabling all children to succeed whilst fostering important transferable skills such as teamwork, creativity and resilience.
